Hey guys :) Hope you are all well.

14x5 Designer ML birds eye maple snare. Sounds very nice indeed and has the dry sound I like. Got it from a local guy here in Scotland and it was FILTHY. Good polish, new heads and removal of enough fluff from the resonant head bearing edge to fill the palm of your hand and it sounds awesome! Just need to source a Sonor strainer for it now and I'm done.

Hey, Ron. Congratulations on a beautiful drum! Veneer looks like genuine Birdseye maple and not the pressed stuff. Early piece, which a few people swear were better sounding drums (I reserve judgment on that).

What snares came with it?

No real markings on them Greg and there are 3 wires missing from it too. Considering the reso head on it must have been over 10 years old I'm not surprised the wires were broken. I'm actually happy with the sound so far but being a Sonor geek I would like to have sonor wires on it to make it complete ;) Have you noticed the Grosgrain ribbon on the strainer? I have changed all of my snares to this now. Wonderful stuff and I'm glad you mentioned it :)
