It's the shame that the modern production Sonor kits (S-Classix/Delite) don't seem to have a 15" option. I really like 15" tubs -- like a perfect balance between the usual 14" and 16" offerings.

I hear ya C.
My SQ2 15ft was one of the nicest sounding floors I have ever owned. I liked my Lite 15 so much I duplicated it on the Q's. Paid off hugely.
Then I got a 15 hanging Designer tom and I liked that a lot too.
14's are a little weak for me and I definitely don't want to go any bigger than a 16.
I used to just have 16's and 18's. Don't know how I did it now.

You might consider getting an order in for a matching 16" floor tom Brian

I agree, get a 16 to complete the kit. I also did that. A 14 is nice, but don't try to let it sound like a 16.
I also agree about a 15. My lite 15 was indeed one of the most versatile floors I ever had, but I think it will be hard to find a SClassix 15 :(

Thanks to ALL your comments guys - it's nice to see some old folks back... ;)

So far - I can say that the S Classix is an amazing drum set. Reminds me of the F3K set I had, but has a milder tone - which suits me most.
Compared to them, the Hilites had a really dark/dull tone. These articulate a lot, and are just to my liking, and my playing...

Good sides - they help one practice tuning a lot... And they're very easy to play, since they resonate more - no need to hit hard... They are indeed lighter, which makes them easy to move - but somehow makes me more careful... ;)

As you know - I've put Coated Emperors to choke the sound a bit, since I needed to be a little quieter... But still, the sound I get from the set is fantastic - especially the 14" tom. It sounds lower, thicker, and most of all - focused...

Getting a 16" floor tom - well I really haven't given much thought to that...
But getting an 18" bass drum -   Now that would really be something...
I might end up getting an 18" floor tom and adapting it so I can use it as a bd (the ft is 500euro, and the bd is 800euro). But, that's a long shot...
It all depends on my drum money (which do not exist at the moment - or this next year  ), and on what the drum store can get here - and for what price of course...

No matter what - the set is magnificent. I can yell for months that it's the best drumset I've owned and still it wouldn't be enough...
Can't tell you all how happy I'm for getting a chance to get a set like this...

Once again - thanks for ALL the support and sincere talk regarding this matter - Cliff, Brian, Greg, Rob, Kelly, Ron, Tim, Mike and the rest f you well proved sound geeks... If it wasn't for You guys, I wouldn't have seen drums in a very beautiful and different perspective... :geek: :geek: :geek:

So glad you're here Goki. You take an otherwise okay computer screen and really bring light and life to it.
I am most appreciative.

PS. ahhh, our PM's! I still have not gotten back to that, I am behind in everything after days of being sick.

The IMPORTANT thing is that You're NOT SICK anymore Kelly...

Everything else can wait...

Here's me in action (I must admit I see very little action these last couple of months) - same gig (last Saturday):

If it was a smoke free environment, the S Classix would have been there...
