Good info from all, I am using Remo Ambassador's on the Tops and 2 on the Bass, while Diplomat heads on the bottoms. Their is a differance for sure in the surface tension

Hell Wayne. That looks like a labor of love. It's looking great.
Ever since I started my veneering job, I've developed an interest in this sort of thing.
I can see a room full of bare shells in my future. Stuff is labor intensive but fun.
