Am I the only with brain surgery here?!?

Hey Goki,

Sorry for being a little slow in responding, but I had figured I would wait a day or two, and hopefully have had definitive news to post. No such luck.

The subject under discussion is the 18" Signature kick in the kit being parted out over on the sonormuseum.

Process has been a little vague, and the seller is looking at how to maximize his proceeds from a group of mis-matched pieces in order to upgrade to what I understand is a matched ebony Signature kit.

The kick drum is now on ebay at a $1,549 BIN price.

My hope all along had been to just add an 18" kick to to my Signatures (now that the 12" tom has been cut down), and have another bop kit option, so that I can leave the Designers set up for recording.

At this price, I would rather spend another $1,000 or so, and (i) find a complete used bop kit, or, (ii) put the $1,500 +/- down on a 4 piece SQ2 bop kit.

A Signature bop kit, especially with the cut down 12", would be cool, but at the end of the day, a lot of things are better suited to a bop application than Signatures. I don't want to spend top dollar for a solution that is less than ideal, when the same money can be part of an ideal solution.

Dunno. This one may come back, but the process has started me thinking in a different direction.

You're absolutely right Cliff... A Signature bop set would need modifications, and would be heavier than ANY SQ2 bop set that You'll purchase... One must think of weight as well... ;)

Ditto. But more perplexing to me was reading Cliff actually musing aloud about buying an SQ2 bop set?!!
