Thanks, Cliff. The surface isn't what I was expecting, but I am growing to like it. Even a low gloss surface shows every rumple, and these thin shells do distort over time, particularly if the bolts have been over torqued. Lily likes it a lot, so that's what's important. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Collets not loctited yet. Waiting for certainty on elevation.

Calf-skin head arriving this Thursday :D finally.

The wife liking it is important. My wife doesn't even notice when I change drums. This is a plus too :D

I think the finish looks great. Those kits though, have never done anything for me.
They look like toys.

That's funny, Kelly. I know what you mean, but you would change your mind if you played them. Nothing toylike about what comes out if it.

Compared to Phonic, Sig, and Designer hardware, this stuff does seem slight, but it is more substantial than S-Classix, which wobbled in a light breeze.

It arrived HERE today, but the instructions say to mount the head and tension lightly, then let it sit for a day or two. At the end of that time (why can't an instruction say one day, or two days?), it's ready to tune. Got band practice tomorrow, so maybe I'll mount it after that, then I can tune it on Monday.
