Yet more Sonor Designer bubinga. It could be said that there is an imbalance of bubinga Designers. |

Gregory, If those gorgeous drums were mine, I'd want them sans the obtrusive, heavy tom mount system that looks like weaponry hardware. For me, this is still tops... simple, functional, dependable and light! Speaking of redundancy, you and I have been over this before. Ron |

Ron, every time I look at the visual complexity of that hardware, I resolve to remove it. And every time I go to act on that resolve, I stop because that... that... that thing is convenient. In the realm of function, what the mobile-rocket-launcher-marital-aid does accomplish, which the Link hardware does not, is to allow bass drum mounted toms that don't affect the sound of the drum. No question the Link mount is a thing of simple beauty and functionality; can't get any simpler and doesn't interfere greatly with the visual aspect. Even so, my preference is for no mount at all. Gone but not forgotten: |

Greg, Now that's beautiful! However, just to nit-pick; 1. I prefer the old, shallower depths. 2. All my drum role models made do with 4 drums, excepting Elvin and Jack, neither of whom, in later days, had to shlep, set up and tear down themselves! Ron |

I prefer them shallower, too. Been said before, racks in those deep sizes look like a yearning for the better days of aboriginal ecstasy. The fact that they are as they are is the very reason they are no longer are with me. But I loved them till I couldn't play them anymore. |
