Wow! Have a ball with that. :D What is it?

Enough chrome for a mid-century Cadillac!

Thanks guys :D

Have never considered a rosewood drum before but when I stumbled across this beauty I just thought yeah thats for me! It's a 14x5 SQ2 thin maple. I have wanted an SQ2 snare for ages now and when this turned up with the exact shell thickness and depth that I would order myself at such a great price I pulled the trigger. This is £880 on the configurator and I got it for a little over £400 from Germany. Best thing was no 6 month wait  It got here in 2 days! Totally agree that as the shell is so shallow the quantity of hardware is a little OTT but the die cast hoops are ridiculous quality and weigh a shed load! I just love it but will see how it plays tonight............

Hey guys!

Well what can I say? I could honestly stick all my snare's on eBay right now having played this. No joke this is the sound I have been craving for a long time. It is by far the most sensitive, warm, and comfortable snare I have ever played. Build quality is off the chart and well worth the cash. Now owning sig snares and phonic era drums I can safely say Sonor still have it. Another top quality drum. This is up there with the cottonwood. I actually prefer the tone I'm getting from this one but that is just down to the smaller depth. I will never get rid of my cottonwood as it is the most versatile drum I have ever played. Seems to just fit any musical situation with ease.

Who wants to buy some snare drums?

If you get a chance to play an SQ2 snare in a size and configuration that attracts you give it a go you will fall in love I assure you.

Congratulations on the score Ron...

It looks like a million dollar snare - and I'm sure it sounds like a dream...

Thanks guys!

Cliff, I have always craved a 14x5 wooden snare having owned last year a Mapex Meridian maple kit that came with a 14x5.5 snare that I just loved. It had to go in the trade for scoring my designers but I have always missed that shallower sound. Don't get me wrong I love all my snares for different reasons but this SQ2 is just 'my' sound and to have found it now after trying so many drums, head combinations is just amazing :)

Now to save up for that D112 kick mic I need (Would love an internal kick mic mount ;) ) :? Dammit snares are just so much more exciting to buy!
