Nick, the drumming is excellent. As Cliff says, relaxed with a great mix of ideas. Can't say enough good about it!

Does the bass drum sound in the room the way it does on the recording? Can't tell if the heads are loose or if the phone is distorting.

Thanks Phatsolid!

Cliff I think mine is the same as yours

the samples I've heard of the Encores sounded a bit pingy, not heard in the flesh though, really like this minimal/non hammered sound for a ride :D

Thanks Greg! On the funk video I'm playing mainly on a converted 16" floor tom, wide open (you can just see the beater moving if you look between the top of the two floor toms), on the 9/8 video the left foot also plays the main bass drum - the timbre difference between the two drums doesn't really come through using the phone mic sadly.

it's a 20" Zildjian oriental china, really nice cymbal! I once tried a ufip natural 20" china which sounded amazing but at £350 there's no way I was paying that, so picked up the Oriental off ebay £70 i think!!!

I'm liking it, too, NIck. Quick and trashy. I wouldn't have bet 3¢ that it was a Zildjian.

great to ride on too, I think Zildjian still make some good cymbals right? Mass produced maybe but some nice sounds.
