Greg. I wanted to tell you from a drummer/recording engineer's perspective that your overhead microphones are the most important part of your drum studio. Don't view them as cymbal only mics, but as a nice stereo image of the entire drum kit. Then the close mics are for added volume and attack. The overhead's will add some air and brightness to your overall sound. Cliff illustrated this a while back with a audio recording. Just wanted to share that with you.

Thanks for the tip, Greg. Frustrating that you can't listen to the new clip. Because I am lazy, there's only so much time I can spend with file sharing technology before my head explodes. :x

I sometimes have problems with the Macmate link as well, but I have heard the new clip, and it captures teardrops and cymbals very nicely.

The drums (and cymbals) sound live, warm, nicely mixed and placed.

When I have a chance, I'll put this clip on my server and provide Greg with another link.
