Good question, Tim. No, I don't think so. Just like the old veneer. Like the new one, too, but you know how "liking" goes. This is just residual bubinga envy.

I suspect that if I buy any more kits they will be older, something along the lines of round badged Gretsch. There's something about modern drums that is like all modern instruments; slightly wound up and missing a softer, more human warmth.

Anyone else on that page?

I turned the page.
Needed something more wound up, not so soft, less warm.
I think at the end of the book....we all end up right back where we started. It's just one big circle.
One day I will look for those old slingerlands I started out with. Done many many gigs with those.

I like the older shells for quieter gigs or recording, so I'm in your camp Greg.
But I like the newer shell build for rock
