Written as Hurricane Sandy was making landfall, though not necessarily about the storm itself:

Recorded, as always, in our living room, with a pair of cheap-O condenser microphones picking up everything, so no isolation or relative adjustments available to us. Some thickened bass effect added in GarageBand, and that's about it. While I am quite pleased with the way this turned out, it does make me quite hungry for studio type isolation and some good mics!

For room condensor mics I think the drum sounds are pretty cool, and the cymbal sounds are awesome! Wish I could play on your Bosphorus set up! :)

Thanks, David. Digital recorder combined with these condensers seem abnormally sensitive to cymbal sound... I mean, that ride pattern that can be heard through the choruses is entirely on a flat Bos, so you know something is up; couldn't use the normal ride for the recording because it created far too much noise. I had to take it down off the stand to keep from using it!

As far as the Bos go, remarkable cymbals.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks for me; just got a chance to listen to his this evening.

Some very nice ideas and playing; particularly liked the bridge section. Nice contrast, but it fit well. Took me away and brought me back for a fresh listen to the next verse.

Thanks, Cliff. Great comment. What is the sound quality on your end. I mean, obviously we're not talking studio quality, but I'd like to know if the instruments are present. We get such different reports, but of course some folks are listening on their telephones.

The sound is a bit off, when I listen to headphones (the singing is buried a bit). But, the drums sound huge and dirty. The cymbals are dry - which goes nicely with the dirt...

And - it's a good tune Gregory, it really is.

I think You should record it with a video, too....

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have talked a bit off line, and I subsequently have a different version of the tune to listen to, but I am not hearing enough bass guitar.

Also agree with Golki that the vocals are low, but pretty good, all in, for what you are working with.
