.. I thought I'd post this file. With Cliff's suggestion, I've repositioned the right side overhead more outboard, and moved the flat ride directly under the mic. I like the resulting sound. Lots of rough stuff in here but some good moments.

I am impressed with the teardrop recorded sound, and think this is a lot nicer than the last file I posted.

Edit: The link is in Cliff's reply… Thanks, Cliff!

Some folks mentioned having difficulty with Greg's file hosted on macmate.

Here is a link to a wav on another server.

Here is a link to an mp3 on another server.

Much better, thanks Cliff. Timbresmith works great. I like this recording much better that the other one. :)

Congratulations on a GREAT job, Gregory!!!!!

I miss "losing myself" behind drums like that, for a few hours...
If I organize myself good and finish all weekend's work today -tomorrow sound like the perfect time for "letting it all out"...

Thanks, Goki. You have been away for a long time. Your work taking all your time?

I trust you will make time to play soon. I am waiting for it to warm up here, so that I can work in the studio without having to fire up the furnace. Playing drums in 45º temps does not make me patient… or particularly creative.

Really nice job all round Greg, the tuning and cymbal sounds work really nicely together...you could almost get away with some Bonham grooves with that snare sound!
Nice playing too!

Thanks, Nick. I haven't been back in the studio since I got the heating bill last winter, but the weather is improving and I'm looking forward to getting back to it.

Funny thing about Bonham… never payed much attention to him because I didn't enjoy Zep. Having watched Steve Smith doing some Bonham grooves, I have developed considerable respect for him, but the band's name kind of said it: an enormous German gas balloon too heavy to fly.

So when you say that about Bonham grooves and the snare, I don't really know what you mean.
