Post subject:  Birch Designers
Threw my Zoom on a tripod & recorded a quick clip of the Designers. In addition to never playing w/two toms over the bass drum, the kit's set up for my girlfriend, who's well under 5' tall. Feels like I'm sitting on a damn Big Wheel, ha ha. Anyways, kind of fun to throw muscle memory out the window so you have to be more conscious of where/how your swinging (ie. at the end of one fill, I almost completely miss the crash). Will have to post another once I put on a fresh set of heads that are en route.

Audio is decent I suppose (no arena setting on my Zoom :| ), but obviously would have been better out in front of the kit. Speaking of which I've included a pic from the front too. Well, enough excuses....I get embarrassed enough posting me playing. Good thing were all family here! :lol:

Yup, that's Gunnar. Your one fill is unmistakable.
Man why does it always look better, sound better and feel better when it's someone you know.
I hear "Sonor" in those drums ha.

Do you always use the one stick upside down?

Sure would like to see more of this on here.

Cool, Gunnar! My experience with ZOOM suggests that there'd be a lot more bass response if the recorder is in front of the drums, but the balance on toms, particularly picking up that low tom, works best from behind the kit. Drums sound great. Are those Emps on the toms?

Nice playing, post some more when you have time. :D :D :D I love that yellow kit.

Thanks for checking it out guys!

Yeah, funny how it's kinda tough to shake some stuff once you get into a groove. Although I probably wouldn't know it while playing, listening back that same fill was played almost every time. The first few times I recorded w/a Zoom it was a real eye opener to see some of the bad habits I've picked up along the way too.

Always have flipped that left stick over. Don't know what's up w/that but I've done it for as long as I could remember. That's one bad habit I was aware of, ha ha.

Cool comment that you "hear Sonor" in those. Wasn't sure if anyone on here played those anymore! :lol:

Cliff Maxwell plays Sonor drums and Ibrahim Diril cymbals exclusively. 8-)

Always wanted a reason to say that, but this wasn't it. :? :lol:

Great post! Tight sounding groove and drums. I didn't think I would care for a yellow set but the look of those Designers is killer. Thanks for posting.

Yeah you tend to over analyze yourself.
I meant that roll as a good thing Gunnar. I hear it in some of the Borean stuff and it's terrific.
