This Friday, Sept 22nd, I'm playing the Blues and Soul Festival back here in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.

We'll be performing as a mini-big band, 9 members...
Drums, upright bass, guitar, harmonica, keyboards, and a 4 piece brass section :)

Will post additional pics and info, when I have them :)

Cheers :)

Great, Goki. We'll be playing that night, too, but nothing like a big band. I have never, in my life, played with a horn section.

Sounds fantastic, and looking forward to the photos. Break a leg!

Thanks brothers... :)

We have two final rehearsals - today and Thursday.

And the "match night" is Friday night.

As I understood, the concert will be recorder with both video and audio.

Unfortunately, I'll play a rental drum set. The stage is not big enough for 2 drum sets - so bringing my own set is a "no go".
I have to check what is offered, tomorrow with the rental company...
As I understood, regardless of me asking for SONOR drum set, they can't find one. :( :( :(

And we'll try to ignore, with much commentary, the "inferior" kit you'll be renting.

It's gonna be a Ludwig set from the 70s.

And yes - the minute a video comes, I'll share it on youtube and have a link here :)

That should be a good sound. Looking forward to your impressions of 70s Ludwig and vids. :D

It turned out it was a 60s Ludwig set.
22-12-16

Decent heads, but very poor sound coming from them, especially the 16 ft.

I guess the set is "way past its glory" - it either spent too many years in a dry environment, or something else...

A chocked sound - nothing singing from the drum - all effects came from the PA...
