Tonight we're playing with a keyboard, double bass and trombone - a new project...

Can't tell You how excited I am to finally take out the whole 10-12-14-18 S Classix out for a spin... I'm sure it would go GREAT!!! :D :D :D

Hope to have some pictures - getting a sound file would be almost impossible... :)

Wish me luck!!! :geek:

Hey Goki,

Sounds like a great musical adventure. Playing the whole kit will be a blast I'm sure. After doing so much on a Bop set for an extended period of time, I had to deliberately use the other toms when I went back to a larger set. It felt awkward at first, then the Universe found perfect balance...in my head if not in my playing.

Do well and have fun!!!! 8-)

Hey Goki,

This sounds like a very interesting configuration; I hope you have fun with it. ;)

I think you ended up getting the kick tuning sortetd out, but I do not recall where you ended up with head combinations and tensions.

The gig went perfect - I'm very pleased with the outcome. So were the rest of the musicians.
We played 3 sets - the first 2 were phenomenal.
The audience was pleased - they stayed until 02a.m. The club owner was very pleased. ;)

Unfortunately, we played outdoors, and the lighting was poor to take photos.

Cliff - I solved the bass drum sound problem by lowering the patch 1" down, and lowering the batter. Right now, it sounds GREAT. I need to tweak with it just a little bit to make it sound PERFECT!!! :)

That's all great to hear, Goki. As far as your kick goes, can you articulate what the difference between "great" and "perfect" would be?

Somewhere in the earlier string I think I got myself confused about your head setup. Is it now still a 2-ply Emperor batter and a PS3 resonant?

How far out of center is the strike point now?

Gregory,
GREAT means the bass drum has enormous potential, but I've placed a piece of cloth inside
PERFECT would be the bass drum without the cloth...

Cliff - I will measure that and do a thorough analysis during this week, when I go to the rehearsal room...
