Yeah, and when someone goes "astray" on an outdoor gig it seems even harder to reconnect just because of the logistics and sound dispersion, etc.! Greg, for someone who knows and appreciates their own drums so well I'm surprised you didn't bring a snare of your own? - D. |

I hear you, David. By way of explanation, I don't do universal-kit gigs... ever, so I didn't know what to expect. With only a fifteen minute time slot to play in, set up is significant and snares involve miking and stand height differential. Hell, I thought I was pushing it bringing it bringing the cymbals, and frankly, shepherding a bunch of my equipment into what would clearly be an unsecured and disorganized space does not appeal. Sometimes it's fun to see what kind of dinner you can make from the ingredients on the shelf, and I'm sure no one else was remotely disturbed. But to your point: if we do that gig again, I'm bringing the snare! |
