High 50s, spattering rain, and about a thousand pour souls willing to tolerate it to hear endless bands play endless Bob Dylan songs. But hey, it's called promoting the band.
Some kind of black Yamaha kit with square toms, everything stacked so high I couldn't see anything over the top, drums tuned to the very bottom with heavy heads, and a snare that had one sound... blat. I brought a couple of cymbals, and glad I was to have something that sounded musical. We borrowed a bass player (photo foreground) who made sense during our one rehearsal but found wildly divergent paths for the gig!
Hilarious, but I had a good time and I think we managed to sound like a good band screwing up royally! At least, the audience response was very positive, so we must not have sounded like a mediocre band doing its thing.
