Yup, it's been a while since I played a blues gig - almost 4 years, if I remember correctly...

So, tonight I'm filling in for a drummer, in the band that my former bass player started (with whom we had that blues rock trio called Juke Joint Express from 2002 till 2006).

It would be fun to catch up on what I left "in the closet". And maybe sing and drum on several tunes... :)

The gig went GREAT!!!
In fact, the club owner called us again for tonight... :)

We had a lot of fun - some stuff we haven't played at all, and some stuff we used to play.
I covered 1/3 the night singing and drumming...

All in all - a GREAT time...

I miss the blues days - I really do...

Congrats, Goki. Sometimes it takes getting away to appreciate where you were and enjoy being there again.

While on the subject, wish me luck tonight. We have two hour concert gig, the hardest sort, where people sit and listen.

Hey Goki,

I wish I had been there for that.

I recall hearing some recordings of you doing some blues vocals and I was very impressed.

I don't sing well, but I would think that blues would be a very natural environment for singing and playing drums together.

Wish I could do it. :(

It's a really nice gig...

A lot of musicians-friends come, so we kinda mix up and see what comes out of that as well... :)


All in all - a great week to let the steam out of the system...
Wish you guys had been there as well - it was a great hangout...

Those kind of gigs are always fun.

Nice when there is a group of good players that all hang togeher for fun.
