You remember the SClassix I did last month? Well I just wanted to add a 18 or 20" bassdrum to it for the jazzgigs but a SClassix in scandi doesn't exist. I placed an add over here and a nice member from Belgium (Jan Cuyvers) offered me a pianoblack 20" Lite bassdrum. I got it in a trade for a 14x4 snaredrum. We both were happy. Except for the color offcourse in my case. So I did another veneerjob. Found some incredible veneer on eBay Germany, 12 euro's !! Here is the result.

That looks great. Did you do the hoops also?

And do you live in a tree house in the jungle?

Yes, Jan is a great guy. I drove to his house in Belgium (100 miles, our countries aren't that big) to pick up the bd and had a wonderfull morning talking about drums and playing a bit on his Tiger SQ2. I think we are the only ones in the BeNeLux who own one (BeNeLux is Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg)
Yes I did the hoops myself, the inside was a bit difficult but I could borrow a very small iron from my mother-in-law, so that helped :D. Actually you can see I did the hoops myself because the grain is vertically instead of how Sonor does it. I did it because otherwise I would have to use small pieces and this way I could use long strips. The scandi however is so wild that you hardly see it

Mmmm, you mean the shells? they are from New Zealand where my wife went a few months back.
Tobacco. I have to admit that I sometimes smoke a cigar, but when I feel the addiction takes over, I nowadays grab an e-cigarette, so I don't smoke anymore but produce waterdamp ;) .
