I hadn't looked at the photo albums or video before now, and when you seemed to understand what the place looks like, I had to go poke around to find the pictures.

It is a great room to play in. Excellent performer/audience contact, and great acoustics, too. You have to be careful practicing paradiddles on your knee back stage, lest the audience hear it. I discovered that by accident one night, while a low-key guitarist was approximating down-home blues.

As to the restoration, I was ballast on the committee to get the project going, although I bowed out right sharp once the real work began. I'd already been on several restoration committees before that, and I knew exactly when to let others take over, which is right about the time when the chairman begins to designate specific tasks. At the time I had put in about eight years of volunteer public service and was ready to do something else.

Got through it. People said it was great. I noticed myself falling apart a little toward the end from sheer lack of energy, but I am grateful I was able to play at all. I am one tired character.

That's a great shot of the band. I'm glad you made it through the gig considering your "fluid" circumstances. Playing under such conditions can sure take the joy out of the evening but one does what one must. I hope it all went much better than your health would allow you to perceive. Congratulations!!!
