Hi everyone hope all are well?
Just finished mixing my jazz/ fusion band's first release, my first attempt at mixing anything proper, but after many laborious hours feel happy enough to let go..
this picture will be understood by those who have attempted mixing themselves http://gettothemusic.files.wordpress.co ... jpeg?w=479

Hey Nick,

I think the link got truncated, and all we have is a link to the landing page.

Anxious to hear what you are doing.

I know what you mean about hitting the stop point with a mix. You just hope you are going to like it a couple of days later, but can't tell any more right now.

Not sure what happened there...

Yes Cliff, it seems like every time I open a track to do more work the onion peels away more and more layers of work..I'm not sure perfection is ever reached...not by me anyway but I am a novice...anyway it's the best I can do for now and the guys are ok with it too.
I'll put some snippets up soon for those interested..really killer pianist in the band

Glad you re-posted the link, Nick. That's funny.

I could probably sell more postersfrom that photo than I could any of my mixes.

:D sorry everyone just finished moving home, bloody relentless process and haven't had a moment to myself it seems. The pianist is a guy called Stuart Brown, totally unknown and has just flown under the radar all these years.
I'll definitely put some links up soon, just have a few tweaks to do (refer back to the picture :-) ) to balance the tracks volume wise.
We're already planning the next recording maybe as a trio, maybe quartet but definitely a more electric sound.
How are you guys doing?
We've actually had some warm weather here in London...lasting more than a week too :-D

Nick

No worries, Nick.

Moving is always such a disrupting process.

Last we had heard was of a 'killer' piano player :o , and then silence, and, well, you know...

We have had some warm weather here in Texas, too. We are not as surprised as you are with yours.
