I just happened to see a video wherein the drummer was executing a short (and not terribly even) one-hand roll, while with the other hand he was doing nothing! What's the !@#$ing point?! Dunno. Maybe you gotta twirl the other one or something? "Twirly, twirly, twirly..." Fank Zappa |

Perhaps the other hand is already otherwise occupied, by definition? |

You meant that the video was posted so that one could see that he only used one hand, not that I somehow divined it was one hand. I couldn't quite grab hold of that thought - gratefully. Tricky business, this English. A person has got to read Cliff with a comb! Well yeah, but that goes back to the reason you posted this. It is one thing to practice an execution with no other reason than to hone a skill, but quite another to publish it. I do quite a lot of the former and very little of the latter. By the next generation, everyone will be famous just for having been born. Everyone gets the medal. |

Drumming these days, is becoming more of a sport than being musical IMO. |

I just saw a solo video a few weeks ago with one handed rolls AND using a side snare (other topic) in a useful manner. At least it interests me. Finally. I'll post it when I get home. |

Rolling an un-needed snare down a hill with one hand? Have a safe trip home, Kelly. Anxious to hear first reactions to the new kit when you get home. |
