For extended sitting, I am a believer in tractor style saddles, but they are too big for a small stage environment. The Sonor tractor saddle fits in my SKB case with about 1mm to spare, and I'm willing to bet that most of the larger chairs will require hand carrying.

In the case of the small area I have to fit (the stage, not my butt), a small round stool is optimal. Durability is what I've been wrestling with. I have been using my Sonor saddle for over twenty years, and all I have ever had to do to it is build up the washer count to hold the saddle itself a little higher off its frame after the rubber stretched, and that included sitting in it four hours a day, five nights a week, for six years straight!

I grabbed this from a Spizz video. It made me sort of sad, and I hope he got a better throne before he died. Every drummer that came through his place, and tried out cymbals at his kit, sat here. Makes my behind nervous, just looking at it.
