Yup - I think it's overpriced too...

Even with all hardware and "trunks", it shouldn't go beyond $3800, if you ask me...

Beautiful drums, nevertheless... :D

GC has a blue sparkle designer kit as well, I think it is the one that was on ebay for 3500, now they want 3700.. That thing is going to sit there for years at that price. Nobody has any money

A set of shells that sells for X dollars is not worth much more with a boatload of accessories.

Part of that is the current economy (either we don't have the money, or, if we do, aren't confident in the economic future to part with larger sums), part is awareness of current price caps (buying higher than market is not attractive even if you have the money), and part of that is most guys buying a kit like that are looking for drums, not hardware.

So a four piece kit in fairly standard sizes, with stands to hold the toms, is likely to sell for considerably less, even to a dedicated buyer.

Blue Sparkle isn't my 'Cup of Tea', but I must admit, it is gorgeous.
Yesterday I saw/heard my friends Blue Sparkle SQ2, Birch Med, Rosewood inner, :D , stunning kit, the Sparkle is incredible, she looked so Classy and Refined. Just beautiful :D .

Until yesterday I didn't understand why someone would order such a high-end kit in a Sparkle, when there are so many beautiful timber veneer options :? . I thought Sparkle Smarkle, that was, until yesterday  .

Cheers
