I'm asking for a friend guys...

What's the best way to repair a broken bass drum hoop?!? Would gluing it with a wood glue fix the problem?
There are no extra pieces that are missing...

Also, how to repair a broken snare stand?
http://www.tamadrum.co.jp/world/parts/h ... hs70w.html

Part 2-1 broke (the toothed part split from the bar). Could it be mended with some sort of metal glue?!? Welding is out of the question, as far as I see it...

Hey Goki,

If the stand can not be welded or brazed, I would discard it.

I would not be comfortable with playing a snare on top of a stand that was glued together with any adhesive that I can think of.

Don't know how it broke, but it was during use, no patching is likely to hold up to what solid metal did not.

Is there any warranty?

Thanks for the reply Cliff... :)

My friend had a gig, and when they packed the gear, the "smart" keyboard player placed his stands very clumsy... Broke the bass drum hoop, damaged the bass drum head, and broke the snare stand...

He's thinking of mending it, and using it for a 12" piccolo, or a tambourine... That's why I suggested glue...

Would Two-Part Epoxy work?!? We have that here... Not sure if we have any other metal glues on the market...

By the way, I fixed his bass drum hoop... Used wood glue, and left the gaffa tape on top, just to be sure... ;)

Goki... assuming you are talking about a wood hoop, wood glue is the perfect repair material. When clamped under appropriate pressure, wood glue joints are generally stronger than the original wood.

As to the metal issue, I agree with Cliff. The only epoxy I'm aware of that might be useful is JB WELD, but I don't think you can make a structural repair and hope for it to hold.
