Post subject:  Which snare would you keep?

I need to do a little snare drum cleanout and need some advice. I have a scandi sonorlite with throwoff 2, a 4x14 sig brass, hilite 7", hilite 5x12, and a aqua sparkle teardrop.
I really don't need them all and would ideally like to dump three of them. They all are great at what they do, the hilite and the lite are similar due to the depth, but the lite is a little more woody, which I like.
All opinions welcome. i could do this with ludwigs as well. I need to weed some gear out, I don't really need it all these days, just a few good drums for recording and playing out.
Thanks in advance.

I've never played the Hilites, but my uneducated guess would be... Keep the Lite, particular if it's a 7. And perhaps the Teardrop- if for no other reason then because of its historical interest. It is good to be able to compare "the good old days" to... well, to more or less modernity.

Since I have little interest in metal snares, aside from their good looks, the brass bit doesn't come on my radar.

It's hard to make any objective statement here, but that would be the way I'd lean. I like fuller wood snares.

Keep the Lite and maybe the Signature.

The Hilite snare was the absolute best thing about Hilites.

Just for giggles Tim. My two cents: Sell all of them but one. The one will become your favorite that you can get to do anything.
Ah the good ole days. When I HAD to make it work....and it did. Wonderfully.

Well Tim - if You like to keep a 7"snare - keep the Lite.
If You like to keep a maple snare - I'll keep the Hilite - but You'll need a re-cut on the edge in about 10 years...
So - KEEP the Lite!!! :D

What You really don't need is the Hilite 12", and the brass (not a sound for every occasion).
And try to keep the teardrop - the price is low, but the VALUE (in the heart) is high!!! ;)

Good luck with the sales,

This is falling about where I thought it would, keep the lite and ditch the rest. I'll see how it goes, thanks for the input.
Brian do you want your sig back?
That lite is a little beast, definitely one of my favorite drums of all time. And it can do pretty much everything.
