before I got into Sonors. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130501964185 I've owned many many brands over the years and the drums Premier was making in the mid-90s (Signias, Genistas) stack up to just about anything out there. I preferred these Signia Marquis to the regular Signias because they had no reinforcement rings... and the toms just sang forever! Really cool low profile die cast rims too. The rims would be worth $200 I would think. Too bad they are heavy as anything. Sometimes I felt like those tubes lugs were solid chrome! - D. |

Actually...those look pretty sweet. What will they go for you think David. |

I remember a picture in the PAISTE catalog, where the company management was listening to a test of the Paiste line. The drummer played a white Signia set... Fantastic looking drums - I never knew they were offered without the rings... Great drums - to me, the BEST that came out of the Premier factory... |

Premier is kind of a niche market. Not too many younger drummers even know what these are. I'd be surprised if the price gets over $1K in this market but it might. They're totally worth it. I sold 2 Signia Marquis kits last year for about $800-900 locally. When people can come and see them and hear them they are impressed. And those sparkle finishes are a really nice lacquer job, not a wrap. Too bad they are so freakin' heavy! I'd love to find a set of those low profile die-cast rims and put them on a lighter kit. |

It's pretty early in the auction to have that many bids. Got a hunch it's going to climb. Hell if I could I'd throw a bid on it I would. |

K...taking a shot at them. Put some cabinets up for sale and might have a buyer. If it goes through, I'm taking a shot at these. Fingers crossed and all that happy horse manure. |

Kit didn't hit the reserve. I am talking to him. He will take 1600. Seems like a fair deal to me. Still waiting to get money in hand. |

Yup 1600 seems very fair. Premier has lost its value in the market, but $1600 for a hi class set like that is worth it, I think... Good luck with the deal Kelly... |

Kelly, $1600 is fair for the "drum value" as they are a world class kit IMO. However, just keep in mind you will lose your shirt when you go to resell. I can't believe the auction got up to $1300, as I couldn't give away my Signia Marquis kits and they went for less than $1,000. Of course I hate to ship big kits like these anyway, so I prefer to sell locally if I can and that usually means a little less $$. If you get them, I'll be interested to see how you feel they stack up the other other great maple drums you've had like the S-Class Pros. I was looking for years for a 20x18 Signia silver sparkle BD. Figures one shows up 6 months after I sell my kit! Cheers, - D. |

Sincerely appreciate your input David. And as always yours Goki. This is one of the only times that I really don't care about the resale. I got gigs coming up and really need a kit. And I'm hoping it will be a long long time before I buy another one. This kit intrigues me for these reasons: it's a 20 x 18 kick, my size and it will fit in my car to boot. Shells are undersized. 8, 10, 12 is a must, floors not that important size wise, I can make anything work. Comes with a snare and it's a great size. It's not a common kit. It's mint condition. And I'm a badge freak And it's NOT Sonor I view it as essentially a Designer kit for about half the price. Why David where you looking for that kick inparticular? I certaintly will keep you updated and provide plenty of input if it ends up at my house. |
