Very nice!

Don't see a lot of 14x14 Rogers floor toms. Now if it ws only an 18" kick... :?

Cliff, How much do you think an 18" ... really rare w/Rogers... would add to the BIN? $500? $1,000? :roll:

The first time I saw a Rogers kit was in high school. There were three ostensible drummers; me with a Slingerland snare, a drumming nincompoop with a set of Kents, and a small guy, a very timid drummer, who had a beautiful set of silver sparkle Rogers with an 18 kick... at the largest, and commensurate sizes, I'd guess a 12 and 14 floor. I suspect the 18 was meant to match his size.

I was disdainful of that little kit - :twisted: - Children are monsters, but the aesthetics and functional hardware captured my eye.

Hey Ron,

I am no expert in either market, but I would probably pay $3,000 for the Rogers kit with an 18" kick.

Even though it is original, the one thing I don't like about the Rogers 4 piece kits is the tom mount. I much prefer using the center mounted 'T bar' from the later 5 piece Londoner set-up, but in a four piece configuaration.

I know even less anout Gretsch RB values, but I would be a bit put off by the mis-matched discoloration on the 14" in that kit.

From the late 50s until at least the late 60s, Miles had his drummers playing Miles' own Gretsch black nitron set.

Not for those reasons... unknown to me at the time ... but to satisfy my own taste, in 1959 my first serious set was a Gretsch 'Progressive Jazz' in black nitron. If wood finishes had been available then, or known to me, I might have opted for maple or walnut, but, "Basic Black" is classy... you can wear it anywhere. ;)
Still subscribe to that notion.
