Sonor Drums Canada, and Sonor GmbH celebrate their 10‐year partnership by offering an exclusive snare drum program to the Canadian market!

In paying tribute to the diverse landscape and culture across Canadas 13 provinces and territories, the PURE CANADIAN features a 13‐ply, heavy Canadian Maple shell, available in two sizes: 14 x 6, and 13 x 6, both manufactured in Sonors prestigious German factory! The 14 model comes standard with Die Cast Hoops, while the 13 model ships with Sonors steel Power Hoops. The steel action strainer system allows for fine tuning of the 2 x 8 stainless steel soundwires, and the vent hole is discretely concealed underneath the snare butt allowing more of the shells beautiful finish to be seen! Both drums are finished in high‐gloss transparent black stain, revealing the gorgeous birdseye grain of the outer layer of maple, a finish that has not been produced since the phasing out of Sonors Designer series in 2006.

What. Don't they believe in apostrophes?

. "Pure Canadian" what, is what I'd like to know. Surely not the veneer, which is Italian in origin. The badge just screams "maple syrup." Pure Canadian pandering is more like it.

How the heck do they come up with this pricing.
In all fairness, i've been shocked lately by the others too. 1400 dollar kick drum? 4 to 500 dollar toms?

Perhaps the price is in Canadian dollars, which would drop the price to around 6-7 bills in US currency. I had to laugh at the cleverly-named "Pure Canadian" special-edition drum. But, it just shows that Sonor really knows their market in Canada, and I'd be surprised if they don't sell out. Probably couldn't pull that one off here in the US, though.
I'll bet that "birdseye" is Italian!

All the Best,
:ugeek: Brian
