They took down the stage 3 times because of the rain. And finally decided to cancel the show...

Sorry Goki.
I've been thinking the past couple of broiling weeks that I could have easily been gigging right now had the bands not went south. Would have been a tough tough thing. Loading and unloading in this heat.
Couldn't imagine doing an outdoor gig right now. Plus what kind of crowd would you have in this heat.

I think the way you deal with the heat is to get out in it, keep a hat on and drink plenty of water, pace yourself and you start to get used to it. Stop eating pizzas and french fries! :P

BUT... today it's climbing all the way up to 68º :D :D :D

Kelly is right again!

I just turned down three pick-up gigs that were outdoors in July. Didn't want to burn my fingers if I choked a cymbal.
:?

One thing about Wisconsin: It can get hot, but as soon as the sun nears the horizon, it cools off rapidly.

Which leads to a question: A gig during the the daylight hours? What can one possibly hope to achieve? :|

They have a lot of day time gigs down here. Mostly under those big tents attached to the back of clubs. Which I view as just a big oven.
Heat wouldn't bother me or stop me from gigging normally. But this ain't heat. Might as well take a gig on the Sun. Can barely breathe in it much less walk.
And even if it were a night gig, it gets dark here around 9:30 right now. Surely wouldn't be loading or setting up in the dark. And it's still in the upper 80's after dark. Never heard of "lows in the 80's" lmao.

Are we talking temperature ranges or critiquing musical periods? :?

...or what about 'highs' in the 60's & 70's?
