Hello men,
Family in all week from Florida. It's what's important :)
Think we found our bass player. We will be trying him out Saturday but, my gut tells me he is the one. Has been around the block, including gigs with REO. We'll be ready to go if it works out.
Chris (guitar player) and I have passed on what looked like a couple great guys (bass player and lead singer) but I couldn't play my equipment. Greatful to Chris for backing me up and sticking with me on this. I love my Signia's :)
Hope everyone is well....out of Isaacs path....be back after the weekend.

Hey Kelly,

I knew you had a full house, but good to see you back.

Always gotta remember that we are doing this first for enjoyment. I am with you on this one - if I can't use my own kit, or am expected to make it available for someone else to play, it is not the situation for me.

I hope this bass player works out for you.

Good luck with him, bass players make it or break it.
I realized the other day that I have only gigged my own kit 4 times this year, been usin other peoples stuff for various reasons or rental backline. I have a new fondness for the old maple customs...
But the old band is playing a reunion show friday so I get to bust out the big guns, can't wait!
Hope everyone is well, sorry I been off the map, its been a crazy summer workwise, can't complain after the last few years

Keep it up Kelly, and Tim... It's great when there's work to be done and enjoyed at the same time... ;)

Back here - it's been a long and dry summer...

Perhaps they were scared of the massive white Signia monster.... or the huge sounds that would come out of them? But who could blame them... those are some of the most beautiful and forceful drums ever created. :D

Keyboardist who also sings lead is coming now too.
Don't usually like two new people but...got a good feeling about this.

David, they didn't know what I was playing because they insisted me and my guitarist go to their studio. Which meant, cart my stuff because I wasn't leaving my stuff anywhere or, play the kit they had there. Neither was an option. They were offering nothing I couldn't offer and had to only carry a guitar and cabinet. Far easier than lugging an entire kit.
One of my biggest strengths is my equipment and how it sounds. The bass player that is coming had said he's tired of lifeless crappy sounding drums. He's in for a big surprise.

I would hire the bass player just for the comment... 8-)
That probably means that he's also very concerned with his sound. And (at least to me) the sound is 70% of what will make me stay and listen. The other 30% is what the band members have to say - together (not as individuals)...
