I must admit I'm a bit on the down side... :(

I tried to sell the Hilites - with absolutely no luck whatsoever.
10 people called but appears that no one realises these are high end drums.
They made really stupid (if not embarassing) offers - bellow $1200 for a 22bd,10,12,14,16ft combination in 8.5/10 state.

I got even worse offers for the 2 Avedis mid 60s cymbals I offered - $150 for both, and both are in 9/10 state.
No one even wants to suggest a price on my first generation S Class 14x6 snare in AZ.

I tried everything I could to somehow get close to buying a Designer set.
But, luck simply doesn't favour me - and it gets me down... :( :( :(
For things to be even worse, I already missed 3 great deals on eBay (one of them was a "like-new "18bd,10,12,14ft Designer for $2000 to my home), plus the chance to grab Tim's set, and to swap my Hilites for another one back here - and have a Designer for gigs AND practice...

But, the drum Gods don't like me at this point...
As the song goes - "all we can do, is sit and wait..."

I feel for you, Goki. And I empathize. I waited 6 years for my Designer dreams to come true, lost them(the drums, not the dreams  ), and waited 8 more years for them to finally come true..again. I thought I'd never, ever catch lightning in a bottle(much less twice!! :o ). Like you yourself said: if something doesn't work out it is because something better is coming.
In your case, specifically, I truly believe that applies to you. You deserve a Designer kit as much as anybody I know. It is my fervent hope, and earnest belief, that your dream will, indeed, come true.
And when it does, I(for one) will be thrilled for you..

Keep the faith, Goki. Dreams are not placed in our hearts, and minds, by accident.

Rooting for you Goki.
WHEN you get them you will forget the wait you endured.

As a former owner of Hilites (great drums), I really want to see you make this change. The Designers are so much more musical that you will find yourself inspired anew.

I would have to do some research to find out where those went Goki. I don't remember off hand.
The remarkable thing about that kit is they could have passed for NOS. Not a blemish anywhere.

Didn't Manny had this set?!?

You got it from him, or was it the other way around?!?
I remebmer asking Manny really hard to sell the snare (or even half a kit) - with no success... :(

I used to save every transaction, pretty much to keep track of where everything was. In case I had to get it back :D
I know I didn't get these from Manny and I do not remember ever selling him anything. But...I can't remember my name most days.
I currently have 5467 emails in my inbox. One day I'm just going to "select all" and hit the delete button. But sometimes it comes in real handy to go back and find something.
