Designer owners, at least the ones trying to sell their drums on ebay: are they looking at each other to set their pricing?
Four piece 10, 12, 14 (hanging), 22, in red stain: BIN $2750 Three piece 12, 16, 22 in Walnut Roots: $2750 Four piece 12, 16,18, 24 in black, complete with T-shirt and 2 slotted keys: $3300 Never mind Steve Smith's 8 pc., listed at $11,995. |

It's ALL because of the T-shirt Gregory. It builds up the price... Few offers - high prices... That's how I look at those things... |

But they dont sell for that I dont think. My old kit was being sold by its owner starting at 3500 (4200 on the bay), dropped to well below 3k for a 6 piece is desired sizes, I think he lost his shirt considering what he put into it. I felt extremely lucky to break even when I sold it. Agree with Kel, people are nuts. You can buy a great sounding used kit for 800 bucks if you really look |

Is that a lot for a Sig 8 and 10? If I had them, that's about what I'd expect to sell them for, or buy them for if I wanted them. But I admit I haven't been paying attention to that market. Whether people are nuts depends on what they want and why, and to a large degree upon the market. It is not the relative value of things I question; it is pricing something about 50% above normal in a depressed market. Sometimes you see a freak who either didn't get the memo or doesn't care, but rarely does the majority defy reality so aggressively… Wait a minute. What planet have I been living on? |

Not unlike the 'business for sale' market, some of these things simply follow the philosophy of, "I'm not looking to sell, but willing to sell for stupid money... ...any takers?" |

But I admit I haven't been paying attention to that market. $1700 for 2 toms is a little on the high side in the current economic climate, in my opinion. Although, they actually are 6+8 which are almost impossible to find. I'm assuming the winning bidder realized this. |
