I have always found it amazing that you remember and express your condolences

Usually things affect me by the degree in which I am associated with it. I do try to sympathize with what others have gone through but it is something I have to do consciously, with thought and effort.
9/11 still, and I hope forever, makes most Americans sick. Sadness for so many innocent lives lost but a constant reminder that evil can show up at any given moment. Peace and safety can be robbed in a split second. A reminder to enjoy today. Tomorrow might not be so enjoyable.

For me, the 9/11 is a global dark moment - like the Holocaust, or any other Exodus in history...
