Years ago there was a deep discussion on the museum about what the value of Sonor Link era stuff would be in the future. I stated "collect Sonor Signature hardware if you want investment items. In particular, cymbal stands".
No one agreed, stating the stuff was just "too heavy".
When I think of the amount of that stuff that passed through my hands I get dizzy.
I have always seen this stuff increase in value.

These are just straight stands:

Kelly was right.

Yup - cymbal stands, or cymbal arms...
People just get crazy about 5 way adapters too...

The answer is simple - YES, they are heavy, but they're better built than all the rest of the hardware, and virtually indestructible... :)

This is true Goki and we're never going to see hardware like that again. The stuff is just gorgeous.

I turned 49 this year, and I remember back when I was a poor kid who just wanted a decent set of drums. Several times a month, I'd go into the local drumshops/musical instrument stores and price stuff. And, I remember when Modern Drummer came out with it's first "Equipment Guide issue" and being completely shocked at the Sonor prices! This stuff was always 2-4 times as much as the average working drummer's hardware. I'd be willing to bet that both of these stands sold for as much or MORE back in the day than they did today!

When it came to drum hardware, I always though heavy was a good thing!

Heavy? BFD!

As a side bar-As Kelly and I communicate, we have found we have a lot in common, including having grown up not far from each other,
(nothing is very far in Jersey), and now that we are both about the same age. Like a brutha from anutha mutha!
