Dean "Junglelord" Ward died a year ago today. He was a unique individual with a passion for life that I'll never reach. He gave me some good advice and support when I was journeying with a friend and fellow drummer who was dying of ALS "Lou Gehrig's Disease". You are remembered Junglelord.

Glad you remembered him, Roland. He was a character, that's for sure! One thing I am fairly confident of; there won't be as many nice things said about me when I die.

RIP

Last week, I was searching around the internet for information concerning the CL Signature snare drum I had just gotten from VJ. It's an early one with Ferro 12 hole hoops. I found several entries at a couple of forums (I had not visited before) by Dean from when he got his Signature kit. He had even posted pics of VJ's snare drum collection.
I seem to remember (was it Gregory or Kelly?) someone helping him get a floor tom at one point. He really loved those Sigs!

He had a special gentleness and childlike exuberance that we could all use a bit of now and then.

RIP Junglelord!

I think about him from time to time.
What still amazes me is that I knew he had some physical ailments, but I had no idea the depth of them.
It is very doubtful that I could go out that gracefully that one wouldn't know that I was going.
I would imagine in real life, his spirit was even more contagious.
He is not forgotten.
Thanks for posting Roland.
I am greatful that I chose to help him out when I did. Maybe he put in a good word for me.

Dean was an incredible human being. I really miss his positive attitude.

I had an pm exchange with dean on shuffle songs for practice and he gave me All We Are by Kim Mitchel. Never heard of him but got it and loved it. Every time I hear it or saddle up and work on it I think of dean. I loved his posts and our pm's. He was always helpful and encouraged me to keep playing. Yes I think of him often and smile every time. A one word description would be Genuine
