Hey everybody, Roland here. I am sorry for being way out of the loop for such a long time. I have not gigged and traveled this much in many a year. My groove is coming back strong and my chops are taking a hit. What's up with that? Anyway, I wanted to make sure to beg your indulgences and I won't be such a stranger in the future.

Peace,
Roland

Hey, Roland! Great to see you.

I am familiar with the improved groove with degraded chops. Truly annoying! My experience is that it is a result of playing a lot but not getting much practice time in.

Welcome back Roland!!!

Everything has a +/- side. You can have $$$ for gear, and that usually involves working harder to pay for it.
If working involves playing more - then the technique suffers....

There are 2 sides for every coin...

Hey Roland,

Good to see you. Kinda figured you were on the road.

Welcome back.

Hey Dudes,

It's a great life and I love the gig. My wife and I deal with my absence as best as can be expected. My knees and back put up the most fuss. I do change brands whether I want to or not Kelly. We played Honduras last weekend and I played on some strange Peavy set with mongrel hardware. It took me over an hour to tune the set and then use wire and plastic tie downs to keep the mounts from swiveling. LOL! Now I know I have arrived. I'm travelling to Minnesota tomorrow to play for the weekend.

I do have an improved cash flow, but I am mostly paying off debt. In the near future, I will be selling old Sonor odds and ends that I don't use any longer just to lighten the load. I will keep you posted on that. It's really wierd, now that I am back to playing full time, neither buying new gear nor holding on to old "collectibles" has much appeal. Am I just getting old?

Haha great post.
You are getting older but smarter is more like it. My collecting vein clogged up several years back thank God.
Minnesota?? Hell our paths could have crossed but I'm going in September.

Wiser perhaps. It is easy to allow the 'stuff' to become the purpose rather than the tool. I can relate to paying off old debt, but hey, praise God you are able to do that!

Does Minnesota include Wisconsin?
