Greetings friends and fellow drummers. This is a drum site for adults. Adult does not necessarily imply a fullness of years, but rather a fullness of heart, mind and spirit. Many a superannuated teenager has crested the fiftieth birthday without wisdom, and a few fifteen year-olds speak with maturity well beyond their years... well, a few. All are welcome, but certain expectations are insisted upon: 1. Persons are respected. Ideas are not necessarily respected. Writing that "baloney sandwiches are the salvation of the universe" is likely to be met with a certain amount of derision. But if it is your opinion, you may hold it without fear of being called a douchebag. In fact, trolling insults of that ilk are not permitted... except in fun. 2. Opinions, ideas, thoughts and dreams are welcome; argument and debate are encouraged as long as they are in the form of ideas or thoughts that form opinions. Personal attacks based upon emotional hostility are out. 3. If you post an idea, expect debate. Hopefully witty debate, but if wit is unavailable, at least use clarity. Obfuscation will be mercilessly teased, even as we respect the person obfuscating. 4. Threads will be written in normal English, and not in "texting." Colorful language is encouraged, hype is discouraged, cursing will be deleted... unless it is amusing. 5. Politically Incorrect behavior is fully approved, but certain obnoxious characteristics are not. You are expected to know the difference. Glad you're here! |
