I've recently moved home and have been extremely busy doing renovations and such, and we didn't have Internet at home for a month  .
Normally not such an issue, but its been impossible to organise quotes/repairs/tradesman etc. with NO home phone or Internet.
Anyways, things are settling down, and I bought a shed to convert into my studio/rehearsal room.
Check it, 8x12.5 metres. 26x40ft, 10+ft high walls.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWNX:IT

Just have cut down and remove the 80ft Pine tree, and I'm ready to start. Can't wait. :D.

Half the space will be used as Studio and Control Room, the other half will be for an Entertainment Area and 'showroom' for my gear, but with facilities to Record in too. Might also build a seperate Vocal Booth out of the control room space.
I bought some 10mm (5/13 ish) laminated glass. I plan to make some double glazed windows, with 10mm glass-100mm offset cavity-10mm glass.
Any advice guys?

Cheers

Yep, its my dream :D . Happened quite by accident.
A shed that size and 'finish' :? would cost $15,000+ (New) over here.
I'd just had a meeting with my shed man, and discovered that Secondhand sheds over 6m in width are impossible to find, and really hold their value. A new Galvanised Zinc shed would cost $10,000+, Colorbond $15,000+.
I was expecting around $5,000. I had been looking on Ebay ever since we bought the house, but with very limited Internet access. Found nothing for 2 months.
As soon as my shed man left, I jumped on Ebay, found this shed 10mins from work (3 suburbs), it had been listed for less than 7hrs.
I rang my shed man, asked him if it was appropriate, got the go ahead, clicked the BIN  :D .

Gonna make her 11x8m (35x26ft), that will fit perfectly on the land. And thats plenty big enough. :D

Cheers

Hey Jeff,

I remember seeing your post over on the museum before you 'went silent'. As I recall the opportunity came up and needed to acted on very quickly as well.

Glad to hear you got the move all done and can make yourself some dedicated drum area now.

Anxious to see the progress of the project.
;)

Fantastic! Dedicated space is a fantastic tool. Congratulations on getting that vision pushed forward, Jeff! I was wondering where you had been.

Amazing find, Jeff!

When do you plan to start construction on it?

Thanks for the kind words guys :D . I've been keeping an eye on this forum, but haven't had a chance to post.
I had a couple of PM's from the museum, so I made a couple of brief posts, but I haven't really been online at all since late March.
Its been great :? ,been working my Ass off, but its been rewarding.

Just waiting on permits and such, and then we'll lay the concrete slab, and off we go ;) .

I'll be doing the internal fit-out myself. I'll frame the entire shed with stud pine, use insulation batts, then Plaster, just as if it was a house.
Then I'll build a 'floating room' inside,, with a 4-6in cavity between the walls.
The internal room will have its external walls plastered, filled with 'Rock Wool' (Acoustic insulation) and then have the inside lined with MDF panels (very dense).
I'm planning on having windows between each room, and the main Rehearsal/recording room will have a window with a view outside (down my driveway to the road), and a view thru the lounge area into the backyard.
If all goes to plan, this will be incredible.
Can't wait. :D

Cheers guys
