Hey Gary,

Nice to see you here.

I happened to recognize your name amongst a ton of daily spam sign-ups.

Welcome, Gary! No need to talk when you don't have much to say. In fact, we applaud silence

You have some great equipment and knowledge that I'm sure will be useful. Your Phonics bop is a beauty, and I'd be interested to know how you came to be using that specific kit. Post a photo in the Looks Like This section. :D

You'll even find some envy from disgruntled Sonor guys that never saw the light in the dark cave they live in.

Glad you're here Gary.
And you too Goki

Thanks guys, i remember all of you from the museum and i still hang out there, i think it's been about 10 years for me there.

Gregory, i originally want a bop kit when i started buying rosewood phonics. The agreement was my wife could have a baby(still not sure where she got it from?) if i could get a new drum set and i planned on buying a 12tt, 14tt and an 18ft to convert to a bass(i didn't have money for the real thing at the time). Well i won the 14" tom from storsav off ebay but i lost the 12" by $.50 and i had the 18" already on it's way. So what was i going to do with a 14 and 18 toms? Well the guy i got the 18 from had a 24bd so i bought that one, then a 16 and 10 off another guy and then a 12. So i had 10,12,14tt, 16,18ft, and 24bd, no snare and still no 18bd. Well then i got a d515 snare and then 14" floor tom, getting closer but still no 18bd. Then i got 6+8 toms and a d516 snare still no 18. I have finally accepted that after many tries it just isn't meant to be so i made some rosewood hoops and now i play my 12,14,18 and i just don't think about the bd that got away...

Sorry for the long story but the wife had the baby(3.5 years old now and looks nothing like me hehehe?) and i still don't have the 18, I may post a want ad here just to give it one more try!!

Gary

Good luck on finding the kick! They do show up, but sometimes you've got to buy a kit. When you started looking, was it for jazz?
