I enjoyed communicating with him, and spent some time schooling him (sounds pompous, but it's true) on the difference between fauxbinga and the real stuff. I know he has a kit of engineered (0)binga kit that he's trying to find a 13" tom for. Wonder how he ended up with this drum? As figure goes, the photo shows a relatively plain veneer, but the flash brings out all the highlights, and that is why bubinga is such a fantastic wood on stage. It appears to be on fire under lights. Ebony, by comparison, looks like old seaweed, and I don't share enthusiasm for it. Apologies to Jeff |

Apologies to Jeff We'll change my daughters name to Bubinga tomorrow I kinda agree. Some of the Ebony I've seen is incredibly boring, the faux stuff is too consistent, but, the faux veneers look great on camera, and from several metres away . Can't wait for the Siggy, shipment has been delayed, looks like late January . On another note, the Studio has moved a little forward, and if all the neighbours have no issues, might be starting within a month |

Send out letters to everyone within 200 meters of your property line? Sounds awfully familiar. Have you started a campaign to inform the neighborhood of your plan?, and how they won't hear a thing? so they won't come to the zoning meeting and complain bitterly about loud, drug-crazed, drunken musicians chasing their daughters? Sounds great, Jeff! Keep us in the loop. |
