Picked this kit up for Lori for Christmas and thought I'd share a couple pics. Am really impressed with the way it sounds and build quality, especially for the price point. Have heard that the blue sparkle finish in the 3005 line was limited, so finding add on's might be a little tough, but no rush there. The sizes are 10, 12, 14, w/a 17.5 x 22 kick. At 4' 10" she might have been better off with an 18" or 20" bass drum, but she's been using these same sizes on my Designers without any problems. Obviously the position of the toms help to facilitate a little tighter set up.

Have been giving her lessons for a while now & she's been putting in a lot of practice hours & picking things up nicely.....definitely realized it was more than a passing fad! ;)

Anyways, thanks for looking and happy holidays to all!

A perfect gift Gunnar - congratulations!!!

The 3005 series sounds great once You put "serious" heads on it.
I remember Emmanuelle Caplette doing wonders on these:

Neat, Gunnar. I don't know Lori or of the 3005, but it looks like a great combination! If my smattering of secondhand knowledge of the series is right, then the kit should be better than the low line maple Sonor I procured for a young friend some years back, and that kit is what started my thinking that my Signatures weren't as sonically remarkable as I had previously thought.

Great ribbon! Thanks for posting.

Appreciate the comments guys!

Thanks for the link Goki....Lori's going to love that vid. You're exactly right about the heads. That topic has went around more than once and I still can't imagine why Sonor would put inferior heads on their new kits (aside from the cost?). This set came outfitted with newer EC2s that really seem to work well.
