And now for the "good news":

The package was delivered to the airport instead of the post office.
The SONOR guys messed it up - instead of sending it regularly, they've sent it like cargo shipment.

That means only one thing - extra $$$.

I have to drive to the airport to pick the drum, and will probably have to pay full customs, which would be roughly about 200euro. GREAT!!!!!!

Just what I needed at the moment.... :(

Customs procedure is complete - $80 extra, but still it's the end result that counts!!!

They delivered the floor tom today...
It's stamped 1209 - that explains why it was in stock...
Which is GREAT - since "our" 18" bass drum is 1205... :D

The only problem was that the top hop was way out of round - almost 5mm. And it destroyed the ring of the top head.
Lucky for me - the bottom one was ok. I've straightened the damaged one a bit, and put it on the bottom head.
And, since I use Coated Emperors - that went on top, with the better hoop...

Pictures of the whole KIT - this weekend!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT!!!!!!

One of my Classix came that way, Goki. Distortion at the welded joint. Sonor sent me a new hoop, no charge.

Looking forward to pix! Glad it's coming together for you.

Dunno.

This sounds more like a kilo of flesh. :?

Glad it all worked out, Goki.

Anxious to see the photos.

I can't freaking wait to see this kit fully setup!!! :o

Sounds like a drama (Like most dealings with Sonor) but it came good in the end brother. Enjoy!

Got a chance to change all the heads - Remo Coated Emperors on top, and Remo Vintage Ambassador on snare.
The 16" floor tom is a killer - way lower than the 16" Hilite I had. Because of the clearer projection of birch, it simply BITES!!!

The kit split up in perfect half :)

And happy me:
