In the OEM configuration, yes, but replacing 'screw-ons' with 'stick-ons' leaves four tiny holes, which although visually concealed by the 'stick-on', cause a material deficiency in shell density, more than offsetting any sonic improvement from the badge itself.

Everyone knows this.

For example: How can you tell if an ellipsis is in italics...?

Easy! Because the little dots lean to the right.

Dudes, if you don't know WHY the first generation Designers are so much better, we can't help you. Nobody can. You are beyond help.

Go back to the ignorant bliss of plinking around on your POS second generation Designers and leave the "real" drumming to the ones "in the know".

I wonder. The tone of my 12x8 benefitted enormously from having its lugs disassembled and cleaned of excessive assembly cement. Perhaps Sonor applied excessive compound into the lugs when it was discovered that there was a problem keeping the lugs together without it. The problem, with bizarre solution, may have shown up several years into the Designer run.

I'm trying to help Ernie out here...
