Brian, I'm 5' 8" too, and although my kit isn't a Signature, my toms are all square.With my drum rack, I have no problem with them at all, logistically. Oh, and FWIW, at the "keebler elf" height of 5'8"

I used to play a Sig kit with a 24" kick. So, IMHO, it can be done.

I had an eighties double 24" kick Ludwig classic kit with 12", 13", 14", 15" Power toms and two floor toms. I played it for 8 years.
On my small Lite kit (13, 16, 18, 24), I use the one up/two down configuration. On my large Lite kit (8, 10, 12, 15FT, 18FT, 2-22BDs), I was using the spare 13, but the four rack setup just looked very dated to me, and by removing it, I was able to lower the kit a bit.
