On drums...

Yeah, that would irk me. I have no reason and look for none to leave mine at home. Took em out tonight. That little 18 sounded just perfect in the environment, huge, chewy, punchy, and not miked. Expressive damn drum.

But you know it's odd; when I tuned it earlier today in the venue, there was so much sustain, I wasn't too sure how good it was going to sound in the music. But I have learned that too much sustain alone is usually just perfect in ensemble.

What if we did all have the same opinions?

Speaking of the elevator, everything was back upstairs within ten minutes after pulling into the garage. The power of hydraulics and wheels!

I used to come down the next morning and look at the huge pile of drums, hardware cases, PA, carpet, music and mic stands scattered around the loading dock. Feh. Getting it all back up the stairs often took two days.
