Looks like there is a lot to like in the Ludwig portfolio, and I am anxious to see Kelly's next 'keepers'. :?

I never fully understood Kelly's well known axiom of, "Pictures, or it didn't happen" until I knew how many kits came and went without pictures.

Some of us will also remember another axiom - "Kelly is right".

Both dispelled here. Kelly is wrong - it happened. Better post some pictures of this kit.
;)

:| Life used to be simpler.

Then came all this information about sizes, materials, resonance, sustain, attack, blah blah blah. Now you can't buy anything without a PhD in the damn subject. Tune in any internet site, "What do you guys think of these sizes?" "I'm also wondering about Brand X. Which is better?" "Does lacquer resonate more than a wrap?" The more you know, the more outta control the whole thing is.

Of course, in Kelly's case, that's a perk, 'cause he's like a revolving door.

So Kel, what do the Beatles have to do with your buying Ludwig? Tea towels?

Sorry Greg. Don't know how I missed this. I just belly laughed out loud.

:D I'd be laughing right now, but I'm on oxycodone and just feel stupid. Knee surgery. Lily yells at me every time I start playing drums. I tell her it doesn't hurt. She's fit to be tied.

Of course, I thought of that. Even tried it. Forget it.

Kel, I'm a Ludwig fan, but haven't tried the new stuff. I have a bunch of ol' 6-ply Maple/Poplar shells and a large 3-ply kit. The 6 -ply stuff is thick like a Phonic/Signature at 3/8" thick.

Quality is not as consistent as it should be, so be sure to check your kit over closely.
