Yup - I finally managed to sell my Hilite set...

Bad news:
1) I NEEDED to sell them in order to bring the Designer dream closer to reality (I simply can't afford having 2 SONOR sets);
2) I sold a hihat stand, snare stand and a pedal, plus a RIMS floor tom adapter - which was not planned in the original deal;
3) I sold my beloved 14"x6" First Generation S Class snare (I've seen only one other like it);
4) I ALREADY MISS THEM!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:
5) The only SONOR drum I have now is the D505 snare... PLEASE don't throw me out of the brotherhood - I'll promise to buy a set ASAP... :lol: :lol: :lol:

Good news:
1) I didn't sell any of the hardware I bought/got from Kelly, Brian or Mike, and that makes me super happy... ;)
I kept the bulky hardware from the Hilite set and sold the Yamaha hardware that I bought with my first Yamaha set - but, I like that I kept Kelly's NOS hihat stand, the 400 series snare stand Marta got me, and Mike's and Brian's hardware (thanx guys) :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
2) I managed to get a super deal for them - $2450... :geek:
I doubt I would have been able to reach that price anywhere outside of my country. (I got almost as much as I payed for them, plus heads and stuff)...
3) Although I liked the wood snare a lot, I actually used it very little. So, keeping the D505 was a better choice, I think...
4) I can start the Designer search... :)

Sooooo - let's find a Designer bop set, shall we?!?

Brian and Cliff - please check your PMs... :)

P.S. Sorry for NOT being here in the last 10 days - I was on holiday... :)

A decisive move that can't help but bring the Designers home.

I will send you everything I see that looks right. This is gonna happen!

Goki,
That's great news! I'm guessing you're down to the Catalinas for now. I got your PM. I'm at the Sacramento, California airport heading home from holiday myself. I'll write more when I get in.
Cheers,
:ugeek: Brian

Definitely a step in the direction you want to go.
I know of a bop kit around here that might be going up for sale(not mine, though anyone can buy that one too)so I can see if he wants to sell it.

I once had a 14x5, nice drum, dime a dozen those.
She gracefully stood aside, for the 'Greater Good'. As has yours ;) .

Congrats

Well - I got the $$$ and loaded the drums in his car...

So, there's NO turning back now, I guess...

The trouble now would be to find a good bargain... I can't afford to spedn more than $2800 TOTAL (shipping, customs tax, VAT, etc.) - so there's still a long way to go...

As I see it - I have 2 options:

1) To find something great in the US, but small enough for shipping - 18bd, 10tt,12tt,14ft... I can leave one tom behind if needed, in the safety of another sonor brother, if I don't have the $$$ at the moment...

2) To find something decent in Europe - that will cut down expences BUT I don't know whether I'd be able to find THE DREAM set... I already missed my oportunity on eBay 3 months ago. A new set in Germany (18,10,12,14) for $2000... ;(

Soooo - wish me luck guys and keep me ingormed...

Honestly, the set I have now is WAAAAAAY behind the sound I'm used to hearing, and it gets me down a bit, I must say... :geek:

P.S. A picture of me on holiday... ;)
