Tim....lmao. Thanks for the belly laugh!

And....I love Emps.
And....That was my combo for years...superkick and regulator. I did a side by side with this Evans and it is so close but the Evans edged out the regulator with a bit more roundness, warmth and resonance. The combo is oh so close though.

Greg has a good question, are we shooting for mic'd or no.

Still looking for that video...I can't remember the dam guys name.

I'm not miking anything guys... If I did, the answer would be simple - a 6" hole and a blanket... :D

I played the S Classix on the rehearsal yesterday. So far, my opinion is this:

The bass sounds great, but a bit untamed - I'll definitely try and find a Coated Emperor.
The 10" tom is the best I've heard in my life. So is the 12".
The 14" worries me a bit - I may try a Coated Emperor on it, just to check out how it would sound, and compare the sounds (Ambassador/Emperor).
The snare will be left for further analysis.

Nope - not a bit... :)

The S Classix has a very bright tone - magnificent...
And the 10" and 12" on the S Classix sound way better than the Hilite set I had... :)

I had to tease you a little, Goki. :oops: :lol:

I'm not surprised, at all, by how much you seem to love your Classix. They are fantastic drums (I can see this even with my limited experience with them). They do seem to be very bright. At first, I was a little taken aback by how bright they are. But I'm used to maple Designers, so that's mostly why. Once I started fiddling a little, the grin on my face kept getting wider and wider....

I'm thrilled for you that you were finally able to get a great new set. You're an amazing drummer and I think these drums will help you showcase your talents, beautifully...

Kelly are you thinkin of Bob Gatzen?

Goki those classix 14's take some work, I'm not sure why but they take more tweaking than the other drums. Be sure to have someone else hit it while you are listening to it in the room, it may sound fine out there. Just remember that one takes work, I think Greg had the same experience with his.

Nope...dam what a headache. Made my brain work. It's Keith Carlock.

This is not the video I was looking for but I'm tired of going through them. It is his kick drum sound I was looking for and wanted to see if this is along the lines of what Goki is thinking. I guess search his name on there for more.
What a fantastic drummer.
He has no crash cymbals, they are all rides.
