With a really great ending. All 33 miners are out.
Not something I think I could have endured. Wow. The mother of all tests.
One man was quoted as saying "I was with God and with the devil. And I reached out for God." If that ain't getting it down to brass tacks faced with life or death.

Actually - 12 of them so far Kelly...

But either way - this is the BEST human thing that happened this year...

Really Goki? My headline this morning said that they were all out before daylight.

Edit: Well hell....just checked. You're right. They are up to 14.
K....hoping for a great ending still.

Last one just got out.

It's interesting that a few of them have said there were 34 men down the mine for the last 69 or so days. The 34th being faith.

Now, it's just waiting for the 5 rescue workers to get out. The man coming up last will probably feel like the loneliest man on Earth.

Well, it's all complete. All 33 and the 5 rescuers are out.

In some way, although I was alive when it happened but wasn't that old: This is our generations Apollo 13.

Well done to all I say, irrespective of nationality. But kudos to Sebastian Pinera; I can't imagine any British leader since Margaret Thatcher carrying out that kind of vigil.

Awesome isn't it Gaz.
It's mind boggling. And to think for the first 17 days they didn't even know anyone was trying to get to them.

It's kinda funny how it ended up like a Macy's Day Parade. "Okay then...next up, Mr. John Smith. He hails from the city of Marco. He is 42 years old, attended regional valley high school and has no formal college education. He is the Father of three and a devoted husband".
(Crowd cheers)

Great joy in the saving of husbands, fathers and sons! Now let's see how everyone behaves. If they end up on Reality TV or American Idol, or worse yet divorced because of a sudden influx of funds from a feel-good-story hungry public, I dunwannaknow.

Another thing needs saying: In an era when free market capitalism is being held out for public drubbing, it is the free market that created goods that helped these miners to survive and ultimately escape. Without the dynamic of investment and innovation, short of divine intervention they'd still be at the bottom.

I know; were it not for FMC, there'd be no Reality TV, either. We take the good with the bad.

Okay, off my pulpit. 8-)

Can I use it :)
Out of so many possible conclusions, it is unlikely any one conclusion can be singled out but most people tend to live more gratefully after such an event. Lets hope that is the case.
I just don't know what I would expect me to be after such a event. Changed in one way or another I suppose. If some of them turn lemons into lemonade...good for them. I wish them good fortune.
As far as their behavior, hope for the best but...doubtful they went in as angels, not likely to be angels afterwards.
Some of them might be permanently damaged for the rest of their lives. I hope that is not the case. Still, there are families, friends, grateful that they are alive in any form.

I see the one story where there was a wife AND a girlfriend waiting for one of them. That's gonna leave a mark.
He might have been praying not to get rescued.

Maybe it was his wife WITH her girlfriend...
If that's the case - he's in heaven...

A man won the lottery and goes home to tell his wife.
She gets so excited, she drops dead on the floor (heart attack). The husband comes to her body all smiling:
"When luck strikes - it lasts all day!!!"
