our collective drum dealer has been getting some b stock Meinls that are something like half off and sound killer. I got a jazz china( sounds dumb right?) Byzance for low bucks and it sounds great. Just a tip if you are in the market...

Yup. Cymbals arrived today. ;)

Been down with a cold all weekend and yesterday, but managed to find a little energy when these arrived.

Not a good clip in so many ways, but here is the first raw sample.

So far, I am very happy with them.

Better samples and information to follow.

Cool! Love the combo, flat and ride, and that the ride sounds just like a more open version of the flat. As a group they sound fantastic The hats sound as if they may be a little harder than the others, but it may just be the way they're being hit as you're warming up.

Have you been tightening your bass, or am I just used to my big ol' thumper?

Hey Greg,

Kick tuning has not changed. Hats do need to be played in a bit, and this is not me feeling at my best either.

Just wanted to get something up. I think the hats will 'play in' very nicely.

Sorry you're not feeling your best. Kinda hard to want to explore a new sound but not have the full energy for it. Get well soon!

Very Nice ;) , the China sounds real pangy, does it have a sorta rigid feel, with a shorter lip.

The ride is phenomenal!!!
The hihats have attitude - I'm sure they'll be fantastic as they settle a bit...
I like the crashes very much too... :)
The ride is unusual - but very sweet.

All in all - an 11 out of 10!!!! Congratulations Cliff!!!

Goki,

I am certain that the hats (and all the others) will 'play in' after a bit, and the 'newness' will go away. ;)

Jeff,

You are right

The lip looks likes about 3 inches on an 18" cymbal, and it is fairly rigid - not real light and trashy.

Kelly,

Photo, as requested.

Man, talk about authentic handcrafted. These pieces arrived with traces of soot from the wood-fired oven!

Hoping to spend alot more time with these this weekend.
;)
